With over a decade in investment analysis and financial research, Aila focuses on identifying technology leaders in private and public markets that have the potential to outperform, and seeking access to crypto / digital asset projects and protocols with transformational utility in a web3 future.

She seeks access to opportunities where projects, protocols or companies have figured out their customer segment and how to monetise their offering on a repeatable revenue basis and at scale.

Within venture capital, she has invested in 22 startups across MENA, and is committed to building the ecosystem through participation in accelerators, incubators, and investment networks. 

She spends time evaluating founders and management teams, looking for evidence of growth and inflection points and prefers to invest in founders who can learn from mistakes, and take large and bold decisions.

She started in crypto in 2017, and discovered the next trillion dollar financial disruption, with the potential to provide access to financial services, credit, and banking to millions across Africa and the Middle East.

In addition to a decade of investment experience across Europe, America and the Middle East, Aila holds an MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency from University of Nicosia, an MBA from IE Business School, and a First (1st) Class Honours Bachelor in Finance and Economics from University of Manchester. She is a Certified Wealth Manager from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI).
